MSO applications and extended services

MSO applications and extended services include:

  • General capacity building: assisting NGO’s to improve operation, achieve good practice and reduce duplication of effort.

  • Early intervention strategy: assisting NGO’s who experience governance and management difficulties to resolve issues at an early stage – this can be done in a self directed way or through facilitated and tailored programs.

  • Establishment packages: for newly funded organisations to maximise speedy set up and operational performance.

  • Resource partnerships: Resource partnerships may be formed with organisations that provide support or assistance to third parties (member organisations, other NGOs etc).

  • A resource partnership is an agreement with the MSO that describes the terms and conditions under which an organisation may make use of the MSO materials and resources. This may include:

    • - using MSO materials to resource presentations or work with other agencies

    • - development or supply of specific materials or resources by the MSO

    • - joint initiatives and developments

    • - the provision by the MSO of support or specific development programs for face to face work with agencies

  • Extensions to online services: Specific programs and activities can be developed and provided by the MSO team. These may include:

    • - Facilitated online programs are conducted for groups or individual organisations, staff and/or management committee members and consist of a combination of online work and offline activities or exercises, using MSO materials, and tutorial/seminar discussions. Group sessions may be held using teleconference or by online web conference. A program may consist of a single topic module and tutorial session, or a longer program of multiple modules and sessions. Practical exercises can be submitted for assessment and feedback if required.

    • - Mixed mode delivery combines face to face work with structured online activity. The online activity is used to impart necessary information and develop a basic understanding of the topic area, and the face to face work then focuses on practical application and strategic problem solving.
